Multiple Home Pages in IE

It can be convenient to have the same home pages open in multiple tabs when you first launch your internet browser.  For instance, you could have your favourite news source open in one tab, a sports site in another tab, and daily currency exchange rates in a third.

To automatically have more than one home page open when your browser launches simply click on the drop-down arrow to the right of the home icon on the right-hand-side of your browser when you're on a site you'd like to include.  Select "add this web page to your home page tabs."

Restricting Access in Windows 7

If you are usually sharing your computer with someone else, then you may want to restrict their access to your applications, files or documents.

Using the AppLocker tool you have a few options to do this by blocking other users from accessing various things such as programs, Windows Installers, Scripts, etc.

You can do this by simply pressing the Windows key and typing 'Gpedit.msc', then go to Computer Navigation > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Application Control Policies > AppLocker.

Next, right click on one of the options (Executables, Installers or Script) and create a new rule.

That should save you from a lot of potential headaches and provide better control over what others can do on your computer.
